Take 6

  1. Return to the piano track (Ch 1), set the Locators to (L) 15. 1. 1 (R) 17. 1. 1 and record Figures P7.22 and P7.23. This phrase uses the notes of the D blues scale and takes us up and away from what came before. We don't want to go higher so let's just repeat it in a descending pattern.

Figure Figures P7.22 and P7.23. More piano, Score and Matrix view

  2. Repeat the sequence twice as far as measure 21. We now have three objects containing the same phrase.

  3. Select the second object (17-21) and, using the Transpose feature in the Sequence Parameters box, transpose it down a tone (2) to use a C blues scale.

  4. Select the third object and transpose it down a fifth (7) to use a G blues scale.

  5. Set the Locators to (L) 21. 1. 1 (R) 23. 1. 1 and record more piano (Figures P7.24 and P7.25). This takes us nicely back home to G, so:

Figure Figures P7.24 and P7.25. ... and more piano, Score and Matrix view

  6. Set the Locators to (L) 23. 1. 1 (R) 25. 1. 1 and record still more piano (Figures P7.26 and P7.27) to finish off at about 55 seconds. Luv'ly job!

Figure Figures P7.26 and P7.27. ... and still more piano, Score and Matrix view

  7. Save Song compare with project7/7.6.
