The cost to implement a full unified messaging solution may also be too high for your organization. Generally, fax servers enable users to send and receive faxes through a central server instead of their own workstations or traditional fax machines. Fax servers that integrate with Exchange Server add a new address type for faxing. To send a message to an e-mail user, you select the user's e-mail address from an Exchange address book. To send a message to a fax user, you select the fax address from an Exchange address book.
