Visual Studio Tools for Office: Using Visual Basic 2005 with Excel, Word, Outlook, and InfoPath

This chapter examined the Outlook shutdown problem, the dangers of ReleaseComObject, and how application domains and RCWs are used by an add-in. This chapter also considered the VSTO Outlook add-in model as a solution to these problems.
