DB2 for OS/390 and z/OS provides Java applications two options for accessing relational databases: SQLJ and JDBC. In general, Java applications use SQLJ for static SQL and JDBC for dynamic SQL. However, there are features of JDBC that cannot be used yet in SQLJ, as the standard for SQLJ is still maturing.
