We recommend that you choose an ISP by talking to people you know and determining which ISP your friends and coworkers are most satisfied with. You also can look in your local telephone directory to find listings for ISPs. Look under Internet, Internet Service Providers, World Wide Web, or similar listings.

Running the Connect To The Internet Wizard

To set up an Internet connection manually, use the Connect To The Internet Wizard. To start this wizard, choose Start Control Panel Network And Internet Network And Sharing Center and click Set Up A Connection Or Network link in the Tasks pane. The Set Up A Connection Or Network window appears (see Figure 24-3).

Choose Connect To The Internet and click Next to move from screen to screen. The next two sections describe how to use the wizard to sign up for an Internet account.
