Windows Vista: The Complete Reference (Complete Reference Series)
You can install Windows in one of the following ways:
-
From scratch Install Windows on a blank, formatted hard disk or on a blank partition of a hard disk.
-
Upgrade Install Windows Vista over Windows XP
Because Windows Vista does not use the Boot.ini file as did previous versions of Windows, dual-boot configurations are not officially supported. Once you install Windows Vista on a computer that also includes Windows XP, you will not be able to start XP again. There are, however, some programs and configuration settings that you can find that will help you create dual-boot setups. This book, however, does not cover them.
