| The document is saved; the filename you assigned now appears in the title bar. |
INTRODUCTION Until you save the document you are working on, it is not stored on disk. For this reason, it's a good practice to save your documents frequently as you work on them. After you save a document, you can retrieve it later to work on it again. You can save a document as many times as you like, even under another name. | TIP Saving As a New Name If, after you've saved a file, you need to save the document with a different name, open the File menu, and select Save As to open the Save As dialog box. Type a new filename in the File Name field and click Save. You now have two documents. | TIP Converting File Formats If you need to share a document with someone who uses a different word processor (or an older version of Word), click the Save As Type drop-down list box and select the alternative file type to convert your document. | |
