INTRODUCTION Word allows you to share your files with others. When you share files with multiple users, however, you might want to protect your documents. You can do so either by restricting access to the document or by preventing changes being made within each particular document. The three file-sharing options are password to open (covered here), password to modify, and read-only recommended. The Track Changes feature is turned on automatically when you protect a document (see the task "Tracking Document Changes" later in this part for more information). Don't forget the password you assign to your documents. If you forget or misplace the password, you will not be able to access the document. |
