As with every type of application integration, a particular set of technologies and tools is available to approach the problem. A BPIOAI modeling tool provides the user with the technology to depict the integration graphically (see Figure 3.12).

The components of a BPIOAI model are

• The common process model

• Real entities, such as companies, organizations, or people

• The source and target systems

Although it should be self-evident that every process-modeling tool takes a slightly different approach, each generally models the preceding components. The process-modeling tool binds the components together to create the final solution by modeling

• The processes, either automated or manual

• The sequence of the processes and applicable logic

• The human resources involved in the processes, if any of the activities can take place at the same time

• Visibility into all local processes through events

• Visibility into all data stores through events
