Problem

You want to paint tapered lines using a pressure-sensitive graphics tablet.

Use the Brush tool with the Pressure modifier toggled on.

Discussion

If you have a pressure-sensitive graphics tablet (such as a Wacom tablet) installed, the Options for the Brush tool include a button for pressure sensitivity. When pressure sensitivity is toggled off, the Brush tool paints fills just as it does with the mouse, but when toggled on, the Brush tool responds to pressure.

To create calligraphic effects, toggle pressure sensitivity on and use one of the slanted Brush shapes.
