Aperture's method of archiving an entire Library is to create a mirror image of the Library on an external device, such as a FireWire drive. Any number of vaults can be connected to a computer. Aperture indicates by color which files need backing up. - version
The file containing all the metadata and adjustment information applied to an image. In Aperture, only versions are changed. The master image files are never touched. - viewer
A panel in Aperture that displays up to ten currently selected images in the Browser. Adjustments can be made on images in the Viewer. - viewfinder

(1) Darkening, also known as fall-off, at the corners of the image as a result of too many filters attached to the lens, a large lens hood, or poor lens design. (2) A filter in Aperture designed to correct unwanted vignetting in the image. See also filters. |
