IS-IS Network Design Solutions (Networking Technology)
This book is organized into three parts and two appendixes. Part I discusses IP routing technology and covers the theoretical foundations of the IS-IS protocol including protocol concepts, features, implementation specifics, protocol mechanisms, timers, metrics, and other parameters.
Part II builds on the material discussed in Part I and provides advanced information on IP network design strategies using the IS-IS protocol. This section also provides cases studies to elaborate and precipitate the design principles presented here.
Part III provides configuration and troubleshooting information with a hands-on approach using Cisco routers.
Appendix A is a collection of IS-IS packet formats and analyzer captures that are presented as supplementary or reference information to assist with understanding the material covered in Part I. This information is useful for studying and mastering complicated IS-IS problems, such as implementation or interoperability issues.
