Hardware and Software Requirements

BizTalk Adapter for SAP works in conjunction with other software including Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000, Microsoft SQL Server 2000, and others as discussed below. BizTalk Adapter for SAP does not require any additional resources not already required by BizTalk Server. Therefore, the minimum hardware requirements for a basic installation of Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000 include:

• An Intel Pentium 300 Processor.
• 128 megabytes (MB) of RAM.
• A 6-gigabyte (GB) hard disk.
• A CD-ROM drive.
• A network adapter card.
• A VGA or Super VGA monitor.
• A Microsoft or compatible pointing device.

  Note   Although the above configuration is sufficient to accommodate the software requirements shown below, you should consider additional resources (especially CPU processing and hard disk space) to improve performance.

Additional software must also be installed on the computer prior to installing the BizTalk Adapter for SAP. This software includes:

• Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server with Service Pack 1.
• Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 or Microsoft SQL Server 2000.
• Microsoft Visio 2000 SR-1A or later.
• Microsoft Message Queue (MSMQ) 2.0.
• Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000. (See the BizTalk Server 2000 documentation for additional software prerequisites and installation procedures.)
• SAP DCOM Connector. The latest version is available from SAP and can be downloaded from http://www.sap.com/

  Note    The SAP DCOM Connector is compatible to run on any SAP R/3 system.

After installing the required software listed above, you can install the Microsoft BizTalk Adapter for SAP.
