Installing Microsoft Software

Install the following software with the following configurations on following machines in the order listed:

Gateway Server

  1. Windows 2000 Server

  2. IIS 5.0

  3. ISA Server (Standard or Enterprise depending on scale)

  4. Mobile Information Server (if end-to-end connection to mobile terminal required)

  5. Set packet filtering for selected transports.

Transport Unpacking Server

  1. Windows 2000 Server or Advanced Server

  2. IIS 5.0

  3. Exchange Server 2000 (if SMTP used)

Authentication and Accounting Server

  1. Windows 2000 Server or Advanced Server

  2. SQL Server 2000

  3. IIS 5.0

  4. Commerce Server 2000 (if mobile commerce support required)

Core Navigation Server

  1. Windows 2000 Server or Advanced Server

  2. SQL Server 2000

  3. Navigation Engine
