Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) is the industry standard interface for accessing SQL data sources. ODBC translates common ODBC SQL and API calls into a format recognizable by a SQL database server. Although ODBC can be configured to interface with ISAM data sources, it is better to use Jet to access ISAM data formats.
