Using Microsoft FrontPage, you can both manage and author Web sites. In addition, by installing FrontPage on client computers, content authors from across a local network or the Internet can access the Web server.

Web site management tool

Using the FrontPage Explorer, you can graphically examine a Web site's structure. In addition, links are represented graphically to help you identify broken links. The FrontPage Explorer provides an overview of the current Web site and allows you to manage permissions, assign authoring tasks , and add Web site functionality via wizards.

Microsoft Visual InterDev includes a custom version of the FrontPage Editor. Although the Editor is included in both products, Microsoft FrontPage and Microsoft Visual InterDev are separate products. Each product has its own advantages for Web site managers.
