If you've used Windows Movie Maker or another video editing program to create movie files on your computer's hard disk, MyDVD can combine one or more of these files into a movie DVD, complete with menus. To initiate this process, select Create or Modify a DVD Video Project on the opening screen. This opens MyDVD's main project window, shown in Figure 35.2. To create a movie DVD, follow these steps: 1. | Click the Edit Style button to select the style of menus you want on the DVD. tip | Preview your new DVD at any time by clicking the Preview button. If you want to see animated buttons in action, click the Build Motion Menu button first. |
| 2. | Click the menu title text to add your own title to the main menu screen. | 3. | Add a video file to your DVD by clicking the Get Movies button. This opens the Add Movie(s) to Menu dialog box; select the file(s) you want to add, and then click Open. | 4. | The movie file you selected is now added to your project, and a button is added to the main menu. Click the filename under the button to rename the button. | 5. | Repeat steps 3 and 4 to add other movie files to your project. | 6. | To create a submenu under the main menu, click the Add Submenu button. This adds an "untitled menu" button to the main menu; click this text to change the name of the button. | 7. | To add movies to the submenu, double-click the submenu button; this takes you to the submenu screen. Follow steps 3 and 4 to insert movie files. Double-click the Home button to return to the main menu. | 8. | When you've finished building menus and adding movie files, make sure that you've saved your project; then click the Burn button. | Figure 35.2.
