By default, Windows XP stores all your picture files in the My Pictures folder, shown in Figure 37.1. This folder includes a number of features specific to the management of picture files, found in the Picture Tasks panel. These features include

  • View as a slide show

  • Order prints online

  • Print this picture

  • Set as desktop background

  • Copy to CD

You can also change the way files are displayed in this folder. To display a thumbnail of each file, select View, Thumbnails. To view the selected file as a large image with all the other files in a scrolling list, select View, Filmstrip. To view details about each picture (its size, when it was taken, and so on), select View, Dimensions.
