You can choose to view the contents of a folder in a variety of ways. The default view is the Tiles view; you can experiment with each view to determine which you like best.

Open the Start menu and click My Documents.

Double-click any folder to view the folder's contents; then click the Views button on the toolbar.

Select from the Thumbnails, Tiles, Icons, List, and Details views.
