Microsoft Word Version 2002 Inside Out (Inside Out (Microsoft))
3 4
Not every paragraph, table, or object you enclose in a border will need four lines all the way around. You might want to add two lines, along the top and right side of a paragraph, for example, to help set it apart from an article that's displayed beside it. You might use only a top and bottom rule to contain your table of contents. Or you might use a single line to split a quotation off from the main text in your report.
Creating a partial border is a simple matter. You use the Custom border type to do it, and then simply click the sides you want to add. Here are the steps:
- Select the information around which you want to create the border.
- Choose Format, Borders And Shading. The Borders And Shading dialog box appears.
- Click the Custom border type. Select the line style, color, and width settings you want to apply.
- In the Preview section, click the button that corresponds to the side you want to add. Table 24-2 describes the different choices available in the Preview section.
