One of the most obvious means by which Word integrates with the Web is the Web toolbar, shown in Figure 29-1. As an experienced Word user, you're probably familiar with the Web toolbar. It has been around since Microsoft Word 97, and its appearance and functionality haven't changed since its introduction. Primarily, this toolbar is provided as a convenience so that you can access Web pages and browse hyperlinks included in documents displayed in Word.

To open the Web toolbar, choose View, Toolbars, Web. The Web toolbar provides buttons that are frequently found in Web browsers, as follows:

Tip - Specify a Start Page


You can control which Web page opens when you click the Start Page button by configuring your browser's start page settings. For example, in Internet Explorer, you control your start page by choosing Tools, Internet Options and then configuring the Home Page section on the General tab in the Internet Options dialog box.
