Hotspot Networks(c) Wi-Fi for Public Access Locations

This chapter examined a gamut of available and evolving technologies for public hotspot services. The opinion of the author is that the IEEE 802.11-family of services will be the most important technology for hotspots through 2006-7, as illustrated in Figure 3-19.
