A separate WebLogic 7.0 installation is available for each of the following platforms:

  • Hewlett-Packard HP-UX

  • Windows 2000, Windows 2000 Professional, or Windows NT 4.0

  • Red Hat Linux 7.1

  • Sun Solaris

However, WebLogic certifies the Windows 2000 platform for development only, not for production purposes.

On all platforms, Internet Explorer 5.0 or above or Netscape 4.7 or above are required. Hardware requirements are as follows.

Hewlett-Packard HP-UX:

  • Minimum disk space: 170MB

  • Minimum RAM: 256MB

  • Minimum processor speed: PA-RISC 100MHz

Windows 2000/NT:

  • Minimum disk space: 170MB

  • Minimum RAM: 256MB

  • Minimum processor speed: Pentium 200MHz

Red Hat Linux 7.1 (Intel compatible):

  • Minimum disk space: 170MB

  • Minimum RAM: 256MB

  • Minimum processor speed: Pentium 200MHz

Red Hat Linux 7.1 (Sun Solaris):

  • Minimum disk space: 170MB

  • Minimum RAM: 256MB

  • Minimum processor speed: UltraSPARC 168MHz

Besides these hardware requirements, keep in mind that temporary storage space will be needed by the installer to extract all the files. This area is freed once the installation is completed.
