Absolute Beginner's Guide to iPod and iTunes
Using the optional iPod AV Cable, you can connect your iPod to a TV and display slideshows on the TV (see Figure 9.10). Connect the cable to your iPod and to the RCA input jacks on your television. Then, play a slideshow using the TV Out option set to Yes, or select the Ask option and then select the TV On option. The slideshow will be played on the TV. Figure 9.10. Using this cable, you can display images and slideshows on a TV.
You can use the iPod Dock for this as well. The benefit of this is that you can use an S-video cable to connect the Dock to your television, which will improve the quality of the images on the TV. Then, you connect the Audio out port on the Dock to the Audio In ports on the TV. Drop your iPod in the Dock and play a slideshow. While a slideshow plays, you'll see full-screen images on the TV. On the iPod, you'll see thumbnails of the previous, current, and next images. You'll also see how many images are in the slideshow and the amount of time remaining for each image being displayed (see Figure 9.11). Figure 9.11. While you're watching a slideshow on a TV, you'll see the Slideshow screen on the iPod.
