Special Edition Using Adobe Creative Suite 2

As mentioned previously, it is generally best to use the File, Place command to bring any graphic into InDesign. The program does, however, support copying graphics from Illustrator and pasting them into InDesign. There are some things you should be aware of, however, before you do this.

In Illustrator's File Handling and Clipboard Preferences window, make sure you have selected the AICB and Preserve Paths option. This option does not support transparencies in Illustrator, nor will you have access in InDesign to layers.

When the Illustrator graphic is pasted in InDesign, it comes in as a grouped object. You can choose Object, Ungroup to work with the individual points and parts and alter the image as you want.
