Protect an externally available SharePoint site with ISA Server 2004's web server publishing rules. Encrypt SharePoint site traffic using Secure Sockets Layer encryption. Install the SharePoint SSL Certificates on the ISA Server to provide for end-to-end encrypted connections between client and server. Deploy ISA Server 2004 either as an edge firewall or as a unihomed reverse proxy system in the DMZ of an existing firewall.
