Think of the data dictionary as a gift. Without our having to do anything, Oracle provides a tool that automatically creates views and tables of the database, all its users, and its various structures. The data dictionary contains:

• Information about integrity constraints

• All the privileges and roles that each user has

• The names of all users

• All the names and definitions, as well as the space allocated and used, for all the schemas in the database
