24.3 Exporting Image Files
It seems that there are almost as many ways to export image files as there are types of image files to export. Luckily, AutoCAD has also provided a single command that covers the spectrum. That command is Export, and it works with a Windows standard Save-type dialog box.
The Export Data dialog box works as easily as the Save dialog box. Simply select the type of file you wish in the Save as type control box, and then pick the Save button.
Let's give it a try.
Note | You can also access the Export command via the File pull-down menu. Follow this path: File – Export … |

Be sure you're still in the DispOrd.dwg file in the C:\Steps\Lesson24 folder. If not, please open it now.

4. Hit enter to select all the objects in the drawing.
5. Use Windows' Paint (or any other graphics program) to view the DispOrd.bmp file you just created in the C:\Steps\Lesson24 folder.
Try repeating the last exercise using the Cutting table24.dwg file. Does it work? (Note: In earlier releases, it didn't work because of the viewports. Welcome to 2004!)
Note | The Export command usurps several graphics-type-specific commands including the following:
