25.6 The Final Word

The last thing you'll need to know about dbConnect is how to stop it. That is, how do I remove pid (and its associated templates) from the dbConnect Manager (how do I close the corridor)? First, remember two things.

Considering what it took to configure AutoCAD to use the database, you might expect a procedure to break that connection. It isn't, however, that complicated. To remove a dbConnect configuration, simply erase the associated .udl file found in the \AutoCAD 2004\Data Links\ folder. (That was sort of anticlimactic, wasn't it?)

Remove the ODBC data source setup by repeating Steps 1 through 4 of Exercise 25.2.1. Select the My_PID_Database data source you created earlier and pick the Remove button. It's just that simple.
