The following sections discuss how to log out of Red Hat Linux via either the graphical desktop or the virtual console.
Graphical Logout
To log out of your graphical desktop session, click the Main Menu button and choose Log Out.
When the confirmation dialog appears, select the Log Out option and click the Yes button.
| Tip | If you want to save the configuration of your desktop, as well as any programs which are running, check the Save Current Setup option. |
Virtual Console Logout
If you are not using the X Window System and are logged in at the console, type exit or press Ctrl-D to log out of the console session.
