Tip

Before you upload photos to the Pictures folder on your iDisk, convert the photos to a resolution of 72 ppi (pixels per inch) and maximum dimensions of 640 pixels wide and 480 pixels tall to keep image sizes and upload times reasonable.

On the iCards welcome page, click "Create Your Own" to open the "Select an image" page shown at the bottom of this page.

Choose a photo or a folder of photos from the Pictures list (shown below). If the photo you want to use is in a sub-folder, click on the folder to show its contents in this list.

Click on a photo name to view it in the preview pane, as shown on the next page. When you see the picture you want, click "Select This Image."

In the "Create your message" page (below), select a type style, then type your message in the text field.

To trim your photo to fit the dimensions of an iCard, check the box shown below. If you don't like the results, uncheck the box.

Click "Continue."

The next page previews your card and lets you address the card to as many recipients as you like.

Enter your name and email address in the name and email fields if they're not automatically placed there.

If you want to receive a copy of the iCard, check "Send myself a copy."

Enter a recipient's email address in the text box.

Or select an address from the "Choose a Quick Address" pop-up menu.

Or click the "Address Book" button to find addresses contained in your .Mac Address Book.

To add multiple addresses, separate each address with a comma.

Click "Send Card" in the bottom-right corner of the page. In the "Congratulations" page that opens, choose to "Send Same Card" to someone else, "Return to Category" to create another card, or "Return to iCards Main" to start over (see page 268).
