Decimal-Aligned Tab
This tab setting is often misunderstood. The only time you’ll really want to use it is for typing columns of measurements. For currency, you can generally just use a right-aligned paragraph format. However, you may have a list of chemical test results that you’d like lined up properly.
Figure 8-11 depicts the decimal-aligned tab marker button. I used this setting when creating the list shown in Figure 8-12. Note how it’s much easier to see how the numbers relate to each other in value by using the decimal-aligned list at the right of the figure. The vertical line in the graphic is for reference only.
