Fundamentals of Audio and Video Programming for Games (Pro-Developer)
Perhaps a good way to start is to copy all the files of the Concertina project to a new Visual Studio project, get the same code as the Concertina.exe working to test the process, and then delete the contents of Concertina.cpp and replace it with code for your own game.
Alternatively, set up a Visual Studio project, and include the following headers and source files: Concertina.h , extended_dsutil.h , and extended_dsutil.cpp . You will also need any of the headers that these files reference, such as dxutil.h. Remember that the samples assume that the extended_dsutil source and header are in the AVBook\Common directory, so you may need to adjust the include statements, depending on how you set up your project.
