A type of computer virus that hides in the boot sector of a floppy disk or hard disk. The boot sector is read as part of a disk's startup routine and this activates the virus.

broadband

An Internet connection that's multiple times faster than a 56Kps dial-up modem.

browser hijacker

A program that changes the homepage on a web browser, making it difficult to change it back. See hijacker.
