Description

The DocInfo element is a wrapper for a large collection of meta-information about a component. Much of this data is bibliographic in nature.

Processing expectations

Suppressed. Many of the elements in this wrapper may be used in presentation, but they are not generally printed as part of the formatting of the wrapper. It merely serves to identify where they occur.

 Future Changes

In DocBook V4.0, the DocInfo element will be split into ChapterInfo, AppendixInfo, and so on.

AuthorBlurb and Affiliation will be removed from the inline content of these elements. A new wrapper element will be created to associate this information with authors, editors, and other contributors.

These elements contain DocInfo: Appendix, Bibliography, Chapter, Glossary, Index, LoT, Part, Preface, RefEntry, Reference, SetIndex, ToC.
