7.7. RAID 2 Data Sector Striping with ECC
RAID 2 arrays stripe data across groups of drives, with some drives relegated to storing error checking and correcting (ECC) information. Because most hard drives now embed ECC information within each sector, RAID 2 offers no significant advantages over RAID 3. Note RAID 2 is an outdated technology and is not supported by HP.
