Apple Pro Training Series: Final Cut Pro 5
< Day Day Up > |
As video technology continues to evolve, editors have the opportunity to work with a variety of video formats. Some of these formats, such as DV, HDV, and DVCPRO HD, can be captured via a single FireWire connector, whereas standard definition (SD) or other high definition (HD) formats, such as DigiBeta and Beta SP, require the use of a third-party capture card. Of course, film is another shooting alternative, but it needs to be transferred to video before capturing into Final Cut Pro. Whatever video format option you choose, capturing footage is always the first step in preparing for the editing process. As in the preceding lesson, some capturing decisions must follow the particulars of your shooting format, whereas others can be personal preferences. The Log And Capture window |
