The examples in this book have been built and tested using Windows XP Professional and Windows .NET Server (Beta 3). Apart from the examples in Chapter 15, the code will also run using Windows 2000 (SP2 recommended). Of course, you'll also need to have Visual Studio .NET and Visual J# .NET installed.

To run some samples, you will also need the following:

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or later

  • Internet Information Services (IIS)

  • .NET Framework SDK, which installs with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET
