Mastering AutoCAD 2005 and AutoCAD LT 2005
If You Want to Experiment
In this chapter, you learned that you can create your own toolbars and your own menu. Try adding a custom toolbar to the menu you created in the "Adding Your Own Pull-Down Menu" section:
-
If you haven't done so already, load the Mymenu.mnu file into the AutoCAD menu bar.
-
Right-click a button in any toolbar and then choose Customize from the shortcut menu to open the Customize dialog box.
-
Select Mymenu from the Menu Group drop-down list.
Because you don't have toolbars coded into your menu file, the Toolbars list box is empty. The next step is to add a toolbar to your custom menu.
-
Click the New button to open the New Toolbar dialog box.
-
Enter My Toolbar in the Toolbar Name input box and then click OK. A small, blank toolbar appears in the AutoCAD window.
-
Select the Command tab in the Customize dialog box. Notice that the Categories list contains the main categories of commands as they appear in the menu bar.
-
Choose Draw from the list. The Command list box to the right displays all the commands available for the Draw category.
-
Go to the top of the Command list; then click and drag the Line tool from the Command list into the new toolbar you just created. The Line tool now appears in your toolbar.
-
Click and drag the Arc Start End Direction tool from the Commands list of the Customize dialog box to your new toolbar.
-
Exit the Customize Toolbars dialog box.
AutoCAD saves your addition in a file called Mymenu.mns . This file contains all the code you wrote when you created the Mymenu.mnu file, plus the code needed for the toolbar you added in this exercise.
