Mastering AutoCAD 2005 and AutoCAD LT 2005

If, for some reason, the Grips feature is not available, follow these steps to turn it on:

1. Choose Tools   Options. Then in the Options dialog box, click the Selection tab.

2. In the Grips group , click the Enable Grips check box.

3. Click OK, and you are ready to proceed.

The Selection tab of the Options dialog box also lets you specify whether grips appear on objects that compose a block (see Chapter 4 for more on blocks), as well as set the grip color and size . You can also set these options by using the system variables described in Appendix C.

You can also turn the Grips feature on and off by entering ¢ Grips . At the New value for GRIPS <0>: prompt, enter 1 to turn grips on or to turn grips off. Grips is a system variable that is stored in the AutoCAD configuration file.
