Chapter 11. Memos In this chapter Organize memos Move through memos Create categories Memos let you record essential but easy-to-forget information. Write complete sentences and paragraphs, or just jot down your musings and lists. Keep track of movies you intend to rent or CDs you want to buy. Recipes, meeting notes, directions, quotations, and personal goals all make great memos, too. The main Memos screen If the current category is All, the main Memos screen lists all your memos. Open a memo, and then scroll through others by pressing right and left on the navigator. By default, memos are sorted chronologically. You can also manually arrange them (see next tip). To alphabetize memos, select Options > Preferences and tap Alphabetic from the pick list. | Organize your memos Before a big meeting, categorize all the relevant memos and then put them in the order in which you'll need them. Touch a memo with your stylus and drag up or down. When you lift your stylus from the screen, the memo moves to where the dotted line is. To revert to the previous order, select Options > Preferences and choose the appropriate sorting method. |
Go to For more about saving things, see page 9. To enter info, see chapter 4.
| Brain-dump into memos Each memo can hold the equivalent of about 2,500 words, or about six single-spaced typewritten pages. |
Memo titles The first line of your memo becomes its title. Phrase it in a way that'll help you remember what it contains. | |
