Four knot modes let you control the softness of a shape on a knot-by-knot basis, as described here:

Name	Hot Key	Action
Group mode	F1	Moves both the main shape knot and the edge knot associated with it.
Main mode	F2	Allows you to move only main shape knots; edge knots will not be modified.
Edge mode	F3	Moves only edges; you can therefore move the edge away from the shape.
Any mode	F4	Allows you to pick any type of knot.

To create a soft edge, click the Edge mode icon and drag a knot out.

To reset the soft edge, right-click the edge knot and choose Reset Softedge.

Note

Be careful with the soft edges. If you make a shape whose lines overlap, you may get rendering artifacts. To clean up minor artifacts, apply a slight blur with the Blur node.

Go back to Group mode.
