Goals

Use the MultiPlane node to create a 3D composite using 2D layers

Learn how to manipulate MultiPlane's onscreen controls

Move layers in 3D space

The MultiPlane node is a compositing environment for positioning 2D layers within a 3D space. A virtual camera, similar to those found in 3D animation packages, controls the view of the output image. This camera can be animated by keyframing parameters or by importing 3D camera and tracking data from third-party programs. With these 3D tracking programs' exacting results, most of which are automatic, the MultiPlane node offers an efficient and increasingly popular alternative to traditional 2D compositing. Guess what? It also saves you loads of time.
