1. | Open Shake. |
2. | FileIn all the .iff files from the Lesson11 folder. You should have the following eight clips: car_mask, laser1, laser2, laser_reflection, logo, mercedes_comp, woman, and woman_roto. Take a moment to view the final composite before starting. |
3. | Find the mercedes_comp clip and load it into the Viewer. |
4. | On the Globals tab, set the timeRange to 1-70. |
5. | Click the Home icon at the bottom-right of the interface to set the Time Bar range. |
6. | Click the Flipbook icon and play the clip once it is loaded. What you have here are your standard computer-generated laser beams and reflections added to a live-action background plate of a woman walking in front of a sports car. |
7. | Repeat steps 36 to play the woman and laser clips. |
8. | Load the woman_roto and car_mask clips into flipbooks and play them. The car_mask clip will appear black because it contains only an alpha channel. |
9. | Press the A key with your cursor over the car_mask flipbook to display its alpha channel. |
10. | Play the car_mask flipbook. The car_mask and woman_roto clips will be used to isolate certain elements in the layering process. |
11. | Close all open flipbooks. |
