Camtasia Studio 4: The Definitive Guide (Wordware Applications Library)
Up to now, the exercises have been rather general and not geared toward a specific goal. That’s about to change. We’re going to create an actual video project using prerecorded clips. Our project is a tutorial about Camtasia MenuMaker. Since this project will be continued in subsequent chapters, it’s important to save your work.
-
Open Camtasia Studio, and import the different media files from the Chapter 9 media folder on the CD into your Clip Bin. Double- click each one to preview it.
-
Drag the seven image/video clips to the Timeline from your Clip Bin, starting with the even-numbered clips, and then the odd-numbered ones. After all the clips are on the Timeline, put them in numerical order.
-
Check the duration of the image clip. Unless you’ve played with the settings, the image’s length should default to 5 seconds.
-
Change the duration of the image clip to 10 seconds.
-
Drag your
narration.wav audio clip onto the Timeline. Its duration should match that of your Video track pretty much exactly. -
In the clip
03.avi, there is a disconcerting pause at the end of the clip where nothing is really happening. Trim it out, from both the audio and video tracks. -
Place markers at the beginning of each video clip (the AVI and CAMREC files). Name them thusly:
-
01.avi: Choosing a template. -
03.avi: Adding files. -
04.camrec: Main Menu properties. -
05.avi: Testing out your video. -
06.camrec: Creating your menu. -
07.avi: Copying your project to CD.
-
Save your file as MyProject.camproj.
