| Your first task in working on any project, even if that project is simply creating a short video segment, is to create a new Premiere Elements project and give it a descriptive name. Your next step is to bring in the media files you'll be using for the project. For this project, we will work with, and make modifications to, a single video clip, parkscene.avi. Load the Video Clip into Premiere Elements - Start Premiere Elements and create a new project called passingtime.
- Click the Get Media from button on the Media panel to access the Get Media from view, if it's not already active.
- Select DVD, Digital Camera, Mobile Phone, Hard Drive Camcorder, Card Reader.
- When the Media Downloader displays, click the Advanced Dialog button to switch to Advanced mode.
- Select the parkscene.avi clip for this project.
- Click the Get Media button. Premiere Elements copies the parkscene.av clip from the DVD onto your hard drive and adds it to the Available Media list for this project.
- Click on the parkscene.avi clip on the Media panel and drag on drop it onto the Timeline in the Video 1 track.
Important Be sure to line up the head (start) of the parkscene.avi clip with the front of the Video 1 track. Tip If you're in Sceneline view, drop it onto the first scene box. Premiere Elements will place it on the Video 1 track. |
