| Motion offers two simple ways to trim a region in the mini-Timeline: Drag the edge of the region to extend or shorten it. Move the playhead to the place you want to trim, and press I to edit the beginning (In point) or O to edit the ending (Out point). Let's use the second method, using the playhead and the keyboard shortcut. 1. | Click the bubbles in the Canvas to select the Bubbles Rising layer in your project. The blue region called Bubbles Rising should appear in the mini-Timeline. NOTE If your mini-Timeline has anything in it other than Bubbles Rising, deselect everything and try again. | 2. | Press the spacebar to pause playback. This method of trimming a region requires that you stop playback. | 3. | Select the Current Frame field and type 2.15 and then press Return. The playhead moves to 2;15 in the mini-Timeline. Notice that the yellow circle is on its way out of the frame. | 4. | Press the I key to trim the Bubbles Rising region so that it starts at 2;15. The blue Bubbles Rising region changes in the mini-Timeline so that it starts at the playhead position.
| 5. | Press the spacebar again to resume playback. | 6. | Press Cmd-S to save your progress. | |
