The CD included with this book contains the following software you ll need to create the Web pages described in the book:

The .NET Framework, which includes ASP.NET.

Web Matrix, the free Web development tool that you ll be working with in this book.

An installable version of MSDE 2000, the database server that you can use with Web Matrix to create data-aware Web pages.

As a convenience, the companion CD also includes finished versions of all the Web pages described in the book, supplemental files, such as sample photographs and the graphics files described in Chapter 8, and two ASP.NET utilities. The two utilities,
To access the files on the CD, insert the disc in your computer s CD drive, and make a selection from the menu that appears. If the AutoRun feature is not enabled on your system (if a menu doesn t appear when you insert the CD into the drive), run StartCD.exe in the root folder of the companion CD. Installing the sample files on your hard disk requires approximately 450 KB of disk space. If you have trouble running any of the sample files, refer to the text in the book that describes these files.
