Beginning XML Databases (Wrox Beginning Guides)

DB2 Database does allow a form of XML data type inclusion using something called the DB2 Extender. The DB2 Extender allows for full storage and functionality of XML data types into the DB2 relational database. However, it was decided during the process of writing this book that the DB2 Extender was not within the scope of this book. Additionally, many other relational databases do allow some form of XML use. Even MS Access database does. Future editions will include additional database vendor software as XML inclusion is added by the various database vendors , and as database vendor XML implementations become easier to use.
