| Some vocalists like to hear effects while they are recording, but they don't want that effect recorded to the track. Recording an effect to a track is called printing. The VS-1680 makes it easy to record a track without printing an effect, while allowing the vocalist to hear the effect in his headphones at the same time. Use the following steps to add an effect to track 1 that the vocalist will hear, but that will not be printed to the track: | 1. | Hold SHIFT F3 (FXA) F1 (FX1) F2 (Select). | | 2. | Use the jogwheel to scroll to P060: Reverb. | | 3. | Press F4 (Exec). | | 4. | Route the selected effect's return to the destination track. | | 5. | Press the TRACK SELECT button for the channel onto which the vocal is being recorded. | | 6. | Press PAGE until you see FX1 above F1. Press F1. | | 7. | Use the jogwheel to change the setting from OFF to PST. | | 8. | Use the down cursor to select the reverb send amount. | | 9. | Use the jogwheel to change the reverb send amount from 100 to the desired level. | When the vocalist sings, he will hear reverb on his voice, but the reverb will not be recorded to the track. |
